Humberto Besso Oberto HuertaUpdate:Thank you all who supported us here in Giveth and within GG13 too ♥. With your help we completed the payment for buying the equipment (almost 5K only for the full MoCap suit, plus an iPhone 13 for face capture and 3D scanning urban places). We even managed to have a small budget for supporting the salaries of the team. However, we have not yet raised enough for financing one episode. This is why we are participating in GG14. Please support us again, we are putting our souls and hearts into creating the first propaganda machine for the crypto-commons.Check our first teaser and share the message, please!. Now, read below some updates regarding the name, the regenerative business model, and about the curricula. Enjoy!🧐 What is Urbánika (before known as OurVerse)?A propaganda machine for the crypto-commons. Urbánika is an immersive video guide that will take the students from learning about the commons to actually co-creating and managing local urban DAOs as ways to re-imagining and regenerating their cities.Context:We believe that urban commons combined with the power of cyber-physical organizations such as DAOs and the proper token engineering will efficiently run cities. A very early empiric experiment about this was run in 2018-2019 in the city of Chetumal. The result was getting 23 people from across the government, universities, NGOs, business chambers, and citizens coming up with projects to regenerate their city. However, coordination failed due to starting from a city perspective when neighborhoods had different interests, tech interfaces were difficult to use, and the team didn't have the proper knowledge, just the will. The lesson was learned and these people have gathered again, now with greater understanding of urban commons, human coordination technologies, and matured networks of public good and crypto-commoning activists. We have come up with a storyline (check it in Spanish and English) and a plan to engage again citizens in regenerating their city. The aim is to film the training and support given to a cohort of activists and turn these videos into a film-series that facilitates others to do the same. The whole content will be opened as produced to enable the wider community to enrich it and fork it to their context. Read to the end to know our plans after finishing season 1.🤔 How are we delivering such impact? We will set up an extraordinary environment that facilitates learning through hyper-realistic virtual immersive experiences that are fun, engaging, and easy to digest. The key features of this immersive environment are:1️⃣ Video Lessons: Teachings are expressed in the form of videos. Lessons go from understanding and claiming an urban commons to managing them as a local urban DAO.2️⃣ Gammified immersion: After the lesson is presented through the main episode, the student will be able to choose which path to watch first: Capitalist or Post-Capitalist. Each path is shown through a video scenario where the consequences of implementing the technologies/methodologies of the chosen path within the local urban DAO are presented.3️⃣ IRL practice: After watching those scenarios the student will get an in-real-life challenge to solve within a time limit of three weeks.4️⃣ Recognition: When the challenge is solved, the student gets a skill badge of completion. And, like in a in game, life points are given for the contribution of taking humanity closer into becoming a regenerative species. In contrast, if the student does not solve the challenge, the life points are given to Moloch. When life points are out, the game is over.🧠 Tell me more about the training contentThe training's content is based on the book "Free, Fair, and Alive" by David Bollier and Silke Helfrich. We have divided the book into 9 episodes where Web3 tools are added, thus, introducing the use of cyber-physical coordination. The challenges within the episode start in the realm of understanding, reflecting, and becoming aware of the commoner inside each of us, then they advance into claiming, regenerating, and maintaining local public spaces as local urban DAOs that bootstrap local regenerative initiatives with the neighborhood and other local agents' support.Within each episode there are also mini-games that enable the students to consolidate the lessons. Such mini-games are for example, memory matching games, crosswords, and others. Finally, it is to clarify that all the content will be released using Creative Commons 4.0, and thus, all the episode’s resources, such as characters, scripts, 3D elements, and so on, are open to being forked and modified by other activists to fit their local contexts.Initially, Kin, the main SolarPunk character, will be focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean, however, the storyline will show in shadows other unrevealed characters that are doing the same in other parts of the world. The idea is that the Urbánika's story and challenges call people to form up a fandom. Social movements based on shared interests and fun have the power to quickly adopt new trends, which in this case is adopting regenerative and post-capitalistic lifestyles. We hope, that others can join us, create new characters and spread the word of the commons!Kin, the SolarPunk agent sent by the Galactic Federation to accelerate the transition to a regenerative and post-capitalist society.📅What is the timeline of Season 1: The SolarPunk Awakening?July, 2022. A regenerative and post-capitalistic one!The above budget will enable us to produce the whole first season (10 episodes). However, the subsequent year of support to the graduated students and the planning of subsequent seasons is not included in the budget. We believe that commons and public goods should aim to be financially self-sustainable by offering alternative services that others enjoy without sacrificing free access to the main public good. It is our goal to proof that is possible and be the example of others to transition into a fruitful commons-based society. To sustain our efforts we will turn the team into a DAO and offer the following services:1️⃣ Product-placing within the story of Urbánika. A vocal expression or an artifact such as a shirt worn by a character or an item appearing within the mainframe. Either of these with the intention of mentioning a value-aligned organization that fits within Urbánika's mission and storyline.2️⃣ In-story stories. A complete VR scenario and story script paide by a value-aligned org to appear as a complementary video with the aim to exemplify a success story of how a brighter future is possible through their methodology/tech stack/approach.Our income surplus will be managed in the following way:Financially support the emergence and consolidation of urban regenerative initiatives from the graduates of the course-series (45%).Financially support universal basic income and universal basic services development at the communities of the graduates (10%).The remaining will be put in the DAO's treasury to support the DAO's purpose of reaching out billions with the knowledge and tools to facilitate our transition into a regenerative interplanetary specie.✅ Monitoring and Metrics:Ask Me Anything (AMA). Once a month after the first episode goes out we will have AMA as a direct channel of communication with the community and the interested stakeholders. Kin will be hosting a real-time transmission. At this monthly event three things are to be shared: progress on how many urban commons have emerged, FAQ that the community has dropped in contact channels, updates from the projects participating in the episodes’s challenges. After these three sections, the community will have the space for asking anything.Main success indicator: 10 urban commons created across Latin America within the time-frame of series' season one.Secondary indicators: Engament within the Mattermost channels and the video commentaries.⚖️ Legal setup & considerations for the projectThe equipment owned and content generated will be governed by its workers aka The Team through a legally recognized cyber physical org (Production Cooperative legally constituted in Chetumal, México with a digital twin as a DAO. The guild will be the main operator of the funds). The content will be created through Creative Commons 4.0.💖 Please support us with three quick things:A heart ♥ on the project,Donating to it,and sharing it* wherever you can. These things will already be doing world-impact.
