By introducing them to the Stellar ecosystem, we can inspire the next generation of fintech builders, developers, and advocates who will use Stellar to solve local and global payment challenges.This conference is more than just a one-day event — it’s the first step toward building a Stellar Students Community in FUTA, where students will continue to learn, build, and contribute to the Stellar ecosystem long after the event ends. <h2>What We’re Doing</h2>The Stellar Students Conference – FUTA Edition is a one-day, conference-style event designed to onboard at least 100–200 students into the Stellar ecosystem.Planned Event Date: To be selected within the Mid-September to October 31 window as approved by school management. <h3>Here’s What Will Happen:</h3>1. Introduction to Stellar &amp; Real-World Use CasesWe’ll show students how Stellar powers cross-border payments, financial inclusion, and fintech innovation across Africa and beyond.2. Hands-On Onboarding SessionEvery student will:<ul><li>Create their first Stellar wallet.</li><li>Learn how to send &amp; receive tokens.</li><li>Experience the ease of Stellar transactions firsthand (we’ll distribute small tokens to make it fun and interactive).</li></ul>3. Soroban Developers’ SessionFor tech enthusiasts, we’ll introduce Soroban (Stellar’s smart contract platform), share developer resources, and show how they can start building dApps or contributing to open-source projects.4. Career &amp; Innovation PanelInvited blockchain professionals and fintech advocates will discuss how students can build careers, win grants, and innovate using Stellar.5. Community BuildingWe’ll launch the FUTA Stellar Students Community — a Telegram group where attendees can stay engaged, receive developer resources, and collaborate on Stellar-based projects. <h2>Why People Should Care &amp; Support</h2>Expanding the Stellar Ecosystem: Every wallet created and every student inspired represents a future contributor, developer, or advocate for Stellar.Driving Real Adoption in Africa: Nigeria has one of the largest youth populations in Africa; onboarding students at FUTA can spark a ripple effect across other schools.Building Long-Term Impact: This isn’t a one-off event.
