Black Love Mural Festival in an annual festival hosted at the Civic Center in downtown Denver, Colorado. In two years we have fundraised over $75,000 to be able to pay 93 artists to paint murals in between our city and state capital buildings. The mission of the festival is to engage, inspire, and educate. In addition to the multi month mural installation, we host community events that support musicians, installation artists, lighting designers, and vendors. The festival was born out of the George Floyd protests as a form of direct action of uplifting and supporting the Black arts community. Since the festival was launched many artists have formed crucial friendships, collaborators, and new clients through the continuing strength of the community. In 2021 we put in a proposal to the unique.one community for their native token $RARE. We were able to pay 25 out of the 60 participating artists in cryptocurrency and help them mint their first NFT, and preserved the festival digitally. Any eth raised would go towards our volunteer team to compensate them for their endless support, and to continue educating and onboarding the BLMF arts community into cryptocurrency, NFTs, and blockchain technology. We believe in building generational wealth, especially in minority communities, and we believe in cryptocurrency and blockchain to help continue to create solutions to empower a better future for artists. We have paid the gas fees for dozens of artists to mint their first NFT, helped them understand how to set up a wallet, exchange, transfer, and add tokens. We want to continue and expand this work!
