Forging a member-owned space for those who have the capacity to stretch our imaginations. Enthusing the collective intelligence of those who dare to dream up bold new futures for our planet. MOOS is a cultural center located in Berlin, which stands for the creative handling of crises, cooperation between different civic actors, and the empowerment of socially disadvantaged groups. MOOS (pronounced ‘moss’) is a hub of various initiatives that deal with:&nbsp;<ul><li>Social issues, such as assistance to the homeless population (<a href="https://cms.karuna-ev.de/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">KARUNA</a>), support for refugees in acute need (<a href="https://sea-watch.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sea-Watch</a>), Krisenstab der Zivilgesellschaft (Crises HQ of Civil Society)</li><li>Education, such as Buzzard and Edible Alchemy&nbsp;</li><li>Sustainable development, such as Ostmost, Last Generation and Plan B</li><li>A node in the regenerative finance and web3 domains, hosting organisations such as Funding the Commons, Cohere, Oasa, Regens Unite, Hackerhouse, and RegenTribe, just to name a few.</li></ul> We nourish a community of 1200+ cultural creatives, artists, writers, builders, activists, designers, founders and visionaries – those who dare to dream up bold new futures for our planet and have the capacity to stretch our imaginations. Additionally we offer residency space for workshops and labs that help other organizations further develop their projects. Over the last couple of years MOOS has managed, through innovative fundraising approaches, to build a core piece of community infrastructure called “Halle Für Alle” (German for ‘Hall for All’), an event space for food, music, art and discussion. To take our project to its next evolutionary phase, and to increase the impact MOOS has on Berlin society, we intend to turn it into a digital public good through tokenising it’s various infrastructures and assets. The Future of Moos&nbsp; The next step in its evolution, and in recognition of the role of the community that has built it, Moos intends to move from private ownership and into a decentralized structure.&nbsp; The stewardship of the current owner has been marked by innovative development concepts. However, for Moos to remain at the forefront of progressive and innovative social, ecological, educational and web3 initiatives it envisions moving towards distributing ownership and value between those that make it, future generations and more-than-human beings.&nbsp; The current owners of the space are supportive of this transformation. The future of MOOS is to be a self-owning property and a digital public good.
