Healing Coral Is a nonprofit organization that integrates Marine Ecosystems Restoration, Art, and Web3. With the aim to save and expand the existing coral reef from Mexico to Colombia, we are healing, restoring & conserving the reef by educating the community, applying new technologies, and coral farming. The United Nations Global Goals, commonly known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include conservation of life below water as Objective #14. Nonetheless, sustainable development support of our ocean receives the least amount of long-term funding of any of the SDGs. Recent reports suggest that $175 billion per year is needed to achieve SDG14 by 2030; and yet, between 2015 and 2019, just below $10 billion was actually invested (WEF, 2022). Therefore, the funding gap is over $150 billion USD per year to achieve marine ecosystem conservation.We are creating an instrument of decentralized finance to accelerate the regeneration of marine ecosystems while generating profit using a payment-for-results method. By developing a new platform where global artists can contribute to Positive Impact and buyers become Impact Investors.
