Cordial World will provide a space where the marginalised and missing are finally heard.We want to build a trusted social marketplace for the exchange of personal insight and lived-experience to solve complex problems together. We imagine Cordial World to be a universal application, like AirBnB or LinkedIn (but decentralised), to be used by anyone, from any industry, at any time. Instead of renting out apartments or allowing people to recruit or build their personal profile online, we want Cordial World to be the welcoming mind-palace for those who want to solve complex problems, with downstream social effects. People would come to Cordial World:<ul><li>To teach others about their situation, through their lived-experience</li><li>To gain a prismatic view of an issue or of a proposed intervention</li><li>To learn from feedback given by people most affected by interventions, in positive feedback loops.</li><li>To remove the pain of assembling a diverse group (time, effort) through a decentralized, on-call network that is only actualized when needed (“think bat signal for the superfriends”).</li></ul> “Instead of optimising for engagement, we’re optimising for humanity” Erin Liman. Empathy is a key driver: “Leaning into someone’s experience, how they see things, and what the blockers are... So many rich opportunities are missed because we’re never having those conversations about understanding what someone else is having a hard time with. All too often, we decide ‘Oh, here’s the problem they have...’ so, we create things that don’t matter for them, and miss the things that do.” “A lot of social platforms are very ego-driven, there to draw an audience, which is fine… but then other voices that are equally important are drowned out, or never heard. When I solve a problem, it’s really ‘Who is missing from this? Who else could contribute something really valuable?’ And it’s not just the loudest people.” - Erin So many rich opportunities are missed today because talent and special genius are locked in silos, excluded from debate, or silenced. So many policies and interventions miss their mark because they were designed by people who did not step into the shoes of those most affected. We want to:<ol><li>Build a trustworthy and welcoming online space for all people to share their lived-experience safely.</li><li>Enable honest and open collaboration and create new knowledge, to help solve the world’s wicked problems together.</li><li>Ensure that everyone has a voice in the debate and can participate in our futures meaningfully.</li><li>Use decentralised identifiers (DIDs) to attribute ownership to new knowledge created and reward contributors with fiat or tokens, and reputation scores.</li><li>Launch a movement for a more Cordial World.</li><li>Build a decentralised community with Web 3.0 technologies that helps people own and monetise their lived experience and insight to solve wicked problems together.</li></ol> We have:<ol><li>Launched the Cordial World Foundation, as a not-for-profit, and when self-sustainable, will offer grants to start-ups and small-to-medium enterprises across the world to build on the open-source elements of Cordial software and grow the network of diverse thinkers and collaborators globally.</li><li>Established great working relationships with partners such as Catalyst Community Wealth Building in South London, Strategic Doing in USA, and SparkTank in Australia.</li><li>Won a place on the Hatch Enterprise Founders Incubator and the first Amazon Web Services 'Loft Accelerator', with $25,000 of AWS credits to help build our MVP.</li></ol> Find out what are milestones are, and why we think we're a combination of Sherlock Holmes, The Avengers and Clinical Trials in our next update.
