Defend them from floods, droughts, wildfires and other climate events. On the other side is Regeneration. We are a community dedicated to research and scientific dissemination in various areas of knowledge, with an innovative approach that merges blockchain technology to improve and strengthen the weaknesses of the traditional academic system. This vision has materialized through a series of milestones that have marked important achievements in the field of Decentralized Science (DeSci), an emerging movement aiming to redefine how scientific knowledge is generated, shared, and validated using the advantages of decentralized technologies like blockchain.Key Achievements in Decentralized Science in Mexico Since our early days, we have been pioneers in significant milestones that have contributed to the growth of Decentralized Science (DeSci) in Mexico. Decentralized Science in Mexico DeSci

Imagine a world where global water scarcity is eliminated entirely using desalination technology to convert our vast oceans into fresh water. WaterLAB is the leading research lab pioneering cheap, sustainable and scalable desalination for mass-market water production. We believe the future is water abundance. WaterLAB is leading in the development of decentralized desalination. We’ve developed the first water x web3 protocol, called proof-of-water, to reward water producers with the $WATER token. By creating an economic incentive to use energy to desalinate salt water we level the playing field for desalination to become competitive as a primary source of water. This allows anyone to choose desalination over other sources of fresh water, which creates a voluntary market where desalination can rapidly scale. Proceeds from the sale of $WATER are used to further desalination technology in order to reduce cost, improve energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact. WaterLAB has a proven track record of finding, funding and financing desalination systems that advance the state of the art in desalination innovation. We were first to build a membrane-less desalination pilot plant in Texas, first to build a seawater solar desalination system in Abaco Bahamas and first to finance a full-scale solar desalination plant in Central America. By receiving $WATER you hold a contract (e.g. water future) for the delivery of fresh water from one of our desalination plants. How Funds Will Be UsedWaterLAB is raising USD $1M. The use of proceeds will be to design, build and operate a 100 m3/day advanced desalination plant and to expand R&amp;D. The project milestones are as follows; 1. Desalination R&amp;D<ul><li>Expand the engineering team for design and testing</li><li>Design and build laboratory-scale prototypes</li><li>Fund other desalination and water projects</li></ul> 2. Commercial demonstration<ul><li>Identify a site to establish a commercial desalination demonstration for lead process technologies</li><li>Operate the plant and deliver water to $WATER holders</li></ul> WaterLAB leverages smart contracts (tokens) to reinvent how desalination science is developed and financed. The proof-of-water protocol is a contract for one physical unit of water (1 $WATER = 1 m3 desalinated water) that anyone can receive and hold. Because WaterLAB is a DAO, holding $WATER gives you governance rights to participate in choosing research projects and voting on desalination proposals. In the future, users will be able to treat WaterLAB as a web3-native water utility and use $WATER to take actual (physical) delivery of desalinated water. Risks &amp; ChallengesAs with all high-risk projects there are many challenges we face in order to scale the WaterLAB platform, including technology risks, development risks, regulatory risks and market risks. However, unlike many early stage projects, we have already demonstrated a strong ability to attract capital, deploy real-world desalination innovations and build a DeSci community. Call to ActionThe water industry is very badly broken - all water experts will simply tell you that we have run out of fresh water. This could not be further from the truth - we live on the only planet in the solar system that is 70% water. The only thing standing between where we are today and true water abundance is our willingness to harness desalination science to affordably convert limitless salt water into fresh water.
