ReFi DAO emerged as a founder-led startup community during the rapid influx of talent &amp; capital that emerged in the 2021 ReFi boom. Since then, and thanks to the support of our community, we have become the cultural home of ReFi for top founders, investors and builders at the intersection of impact and web3. <h2>Hello World! 🌊🐠✨</h2> <a href="https://linktr.ee/mesoreefdao" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MesoReefDAO</a> (Mesoamerican Reef DAO) is a Regenerative Coral Reef Science project that focuses on the creation of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) of DeSci (Decentralized Science) that seeks to scale coral reef conservation efforts in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. <img src="https://giveth.mypinata.cloud/ipfs/QmcpiDp3sBiJESWxLDWmXtfq8Wpht4xbqWHWo3zVosWKL4"> The Mesoamerican Reef is one of the most biodiverse and productive marine ecosystems in the world, providing crucial ecosystem services, such as coastal protection, fisheries, and tourism, to millions of people in the region. It stretches over 1,000 kilometers from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico to the Bay Islands in Honduras (Fig 1). <img src="https://giveth.mypinata.cloud/ipfs/QmY51bBh2CakufUVZzY2g93ak8Qh69afUzcNM1tjCdDHwi"><a href="https://www.wwfca.org/en/landscapes/mesoamerican_reef/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" class="ql-size-small">Fig 1. A map of the Mesoamerican Reef, created by © WWF Guatemala.</a> MesoReefDAO is working to establish partnerships with local communities, NGOs, and governments to support the implementation of sustainable fishing practices and the development of marine protected areas in the MAR. MesoReefDAO General Framework.</a> MesoReefDAO is built on the Ethereum blockchain and is governed by a community of stakeholders who share a common interest in conserving and restoring the MAR. The DAO's governance structure is designed to be transparent, inclusive, and democratic, allowing anyone to participate and contribute to decision-making processes. The DAO's mission is to leverage the power of decentralized technologies to enable innovative solutions to the challenges facing the MAR. One of the key initiatives of MesoReefDAO is to develop a regenerative decentralized science (DeSci) offset program. The program will incentivize individuals and organizations to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to MAR conservation efforts. The fund will support the development and implementation of coral reef restoration projects in the MAR region. The fund will be managed by the DAO's community and will be open to contributions from anyone who wants to support the conservation and restoration of the MAR. Overall, MesoReefDAO is a cutting-edge initiative that seeks to harness the power of decentralized technologies to address the urgent challenges facing the Mesoamerican Reef. At the Traditional Dream Factory we are&nbsp;pioneering a&nbsp;model for&nbsp;regenerative co-living,&nbsp;while creating&nbsp;positive loops in all interactions between stakeholders including nature,&nbsp;all life,&nbsp;and future generations 🌳&nbsp;The idea is to prove we can optimize resources while&nbsp;nurturing a creative and thriving community&nbsp;and at the same time&nbsp;leave a positive trace&nbsp;on the environment. The Traditional Dream Factory (TDF)&nbsp;is&nbsp;manifested&nbsp;in an old poultry factory built in 1972. Adjacent to the factory, we have a 7 years lease for 4.6 ha of land with an option to buy&nbsp;24.5ha more of&nbsp;land with beautiful hills and valleys, protected oak trees, a flowing river, an old rammed earth built farmhouse,&nbsp;and the old Abela’s community mill.&nbsp;Currently, we are regenerating (creating a food forest, swells for collecting rainwater, natural ponds,&nbsp;etc) 4.6 ha of land right behind the factory and revamping the old chicken factory into a&nbsp;co-living space&nbsp;that will be shared between&nbsp;80-100&nbsp;members. The space will be architected so that it offers mostly everything that one needs to&nbsp;live creatively, purposefully,&nbsp;and connected 💚 Our little dream is powered by web3 tech 🚀 Our model is the following: <ul><li>We created an association with the aim of serving land regeneration - OASA. OASA holds our land title. All land projects connected under OASA have to embody its Land Regeneration Principles (50% re-wilding, 45% food systems, 5% human co-living).</li><li>Each land project under OASA has its own DAO, with its own governance model and token.</li><li>TDF is the first OASA land project, we are prototyping it all!</li></ul> We are building our DAO and Proof of Presence for our decentralised and distributed governance. Proof of Presence means that the more nights you spend with us - you book with your TDF tokens - the more influence you have in TDF DAO. To this, later on, we want to add Proof of Sweat - not only your presence at TDF, but also weighting your contributions to the space. TDF is crafted fully regenerative and circular. Members lay their contributions in sweat or money, and any profit made within our ecosystem is collectively governed by the DAO ⭕️ We are in the process of documenting all our journey - from land designs, social designs, legal processes, all of it. The Solar Foundation’s focus is evolving towards off-grid, full-stack, solar solutions for local, high-impact organizations such as schools, healthcare centers, community centers and agroforestry and regenerative farming cooperatives.&nbsp; At The Solar Foundation, we envision innovative, sustainable funding models to enable rural, low-income communities to access clean energy and have an ownership stake in the solar deployed. This grassroots organization grows fruit trees and other plants and distributes them to their local community in Tororo, Uganda. We’ve partnered with Ayowecca on multiple solutions including solar-powered security lighting and a fence to protect their nursery, a mobile solar solution to power their office&nbsp;operations and solar lanterns to replace kerosene lamps for over 100 local women. <a href="https://www.helpersfoundation.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Helpers Social Development Foundation</a> - Helpers Foundation’s primary focus is on education for vulnerable children. A secondary focus is on economic empowerment and health awareness programs in Nigeria. We have partnered with Helpers Foundation on multiple projects in Enugu State including solar power and a computer center for their primary school, solar for their community center, a solar-powered well &amp; security lights along with a storage tank to supply water for approximately 400 members of their community and a solar metering project, along with <a href="https://www.whynotswitch.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Switch Electric</a>, to be able to showcase the clean power that is being generated. <a href="https://omawatanzania.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">OMAWA</a> - Okoa Maisha Ya Watoto (OMAWA) supports and advocates for the needs and rights of orphans and vulnerable children in rural communities. We partnered with OMAWA in Tanzania to create a microgrid for their Iring’ong’weni Primary School which faced significant challenges of electricity and no integration of computers and technology in the delivery of their curriculum. This project provides clean energy from the sun to power classrooms used by approximately 800 children, staff houses and offices, security lights and a charging station for the entire community for phone charging and other productive uses.&nbsp; <a href="https://carefortheneedycharity.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Care for the Needy Orphanage</a> - Care for the Needy Charity provides education, love, hope and care for orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda. The Solar Foundation has partnered with this NGO to provide solar-powered lighting for increased safety and security outside of their building so that the children feel safe being outside after dark. This was our co-founder, Jon Ruth’s, first solar project in Africa where he helped fund a solar solution for their school and a solar-powered water pump for clean water. <a href="https://www.curamericas.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Curamericas</a> - This nonprofit partners with underserved communities to make measurable and sustainable improvements in their health and well-being by funding healthcare facilities around the world. We partnered with Curamericas to fund solar for their Iranda Healthcare Clinic in Kisii, Kenya. This 9.9 kW rooftop solar system provides 24 x 7 clean energy for the community clinic, maternity wing and refrigeration for vaccines and other medicines. <a href="https://www.footprintproject.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Footprint Project</a> - A non-profit focused on education and building mobile solar generators for disaster relief. We partnered with Footprint to fund 3 mobile solar generators and a Build Power training workshop for La Escuela Alejandro Tapia y Rivera and community members in La Parguera, Puerto Rico.<h2> </h2><h2>Why Us 🤝🏿</h2>The Solar Foundation team members have the background to execute this vision because of our combined experience in solar, crypto, web3, and research and our determination to have an environmental and social impact with the projects we build. Each dIP grows in Impact Value (IV), levels, and DCU Points (which will be converted into $DCU Tokens during the Token Generation Event at V2 launch). It will allow projects to publish, verify, and fund impact through open, interoperable records that bridge offchain collaboration and onchain finance. We’re now finalizing the protocol, developer tools, and a template app for funding platforms. Together, we’ll define templates for Ecocerts, establish evaluation methods, and explore innovative ways to finance projects that steward our planet.This is an open initiative without organizational boundaries—if you’re interested in using Ecocerts, we’d love to hear from you!<h2>1️⃣ Introduction:&nbsp;Where are we headed</h2>Imagine a world where positive impact was one of the most highly valued creations in our society; where entrepreneurs who pursued high-uncertainty, high-upside moonshots to radically improve society were rewarded directly for that impact; where becoming a patron of impactful causes was something people aspired to and displayed proudly; and where the methods used to evaluate impact were credible, transparent, and independently verifiable.&nbsp;That world might seem a distance away, but it’s one we can build towards. Specifically we’d like to see more impact markets, retroactive funding and innovation in the way we fund public goods. In order for this to occur, we need protocols to track and fund impact.<h2>2️⃣&nbsp;Hypercerts Represent the Impact of Work</h2>Every hypercert accounts for a discrete piece of work and represents the impact resulting from that work. Projects create hypercerts for their work. Evaluators assess the outputs, outcomes and impact of projects' work. This database avoids the creation of new funding silos, as hypercerts can be integrated into any existing funding platform, thereby creating an interconnected funding ecosystem.</li><li>Selling impact – moving beyond donation: While hypercerts may be useful for any funding mechanism, they’re particularly valuable for retroactive funding as they provide baseline invariant guarantees that impact claims will not be forgotten. Projects create and sell impact, building financially sustainable and scalable revenue models. With hypercerts, we move beyond donations.</li><li>Certifying impact – open evaluation system: Certifying impact is a process, and it should be an open and dynamic one. Hence, with hypercerts we create the foundation for an open evaluation system for credible and transparent impact assessment. Every hypercert can receive multiple evaluations from different evaluators using a variety of methodologies.
