In many rural communities across Nigeria, children are eager to learn but lack the basic materials needed to succeed. At the same time, access to financial tools and knowledge about blockchain remains limited—especially among youth. The program hope to host events for young people and different stakeholders to educate them on how crypto can be used for public good. This project aims to educate youth about cryptocurrency and how it can be used for public goods. Educating young people on overview of the history of the first cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, Celo network, Solana, Base, Arbitrum network, Stellar, Ethereum and how it came to be the most valued digital asset. Educating young people, the concept of buying and selling it, as well as the risks and rewards of investing in cryptocurrency and stay away from financial fraud. Supporting this initiative will help to increase youths understanding about cryptocurrencies. How to encourage more people to start accepting cryptoDue to fraudulent activities being committed by some of the crypto user, government and parents discouraged their youth and citizens from using cryptocurrency. Proper education on the use of crypto, and how it can be used for public good, will encourage those who is against cryptocurrency to have a rethink of their action against it.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At Helpers Social Development Foundation, we believed that lasting change happened when children and youths have access to their social needs. We are accepting cryptocurrencies because we believed that crypto will help us to restore and build abandoned public institutions. <h2>What Helpers Foundation have achieved with cryptocurrency donations</h2> With the help of our crypto donors, we established three (3) nursery and primary schools in Enugu State with the aim to offer high quality free and low-cost education and mentoring to underprivileged children in Nigeria.We believed we can build a system more than the government because we know our people's needs and how to solve them. Why not support our initiative? What we have achieved through donations received.<ol><li>We Built toilet facilities in public schools using open defecation. We constructed the toilet facility with the aim to end open defecation in those schools in order to prevent children and teachers from contracting diseases while learning.</li><li>Classroom building ongoing project.</li><li>Solar-powered classroom</li><li>Constructed solar powered clean water in schools.</li><li>Distribution of free school supplies in public schools to prevent underprivileged children from missing or dropping out of school.</li><li>we established Helpers Foundation Nursery and primary school in the year 2021 in the Oji-River area of Enugu State with the aim to offer free education and mentoring to underprivileged children in Oji-River.</li><li>Child marriage and sexual abuse prevention campaign and more.</li></ol> Challenges affecting children in NigeriaThis is truly a trying time for underprivileged Nigerians as many people have lost their jobs due to Covid-pandemic and economic hardship. 18.5 million children dropped out of school, and 10.5 million are girls, they struggle daily for not having the tools needed to help them in school. Poverty regardless of level is linked to reduced academic achievement. Students who live in poverty come to school every day without the proper tools for success, as a result, they are commonly behind their classmates physically, socially, and emotionally. Help us to reach out to millions of out-of-school children. With your donations, more children will be reached. Better funding for out-of-school children's education will help to reach out to those government left behind.&nbsp;Donating for children's basic needs, like education, school food programs, classroom building, classroom funding, mentoring programs for children, healthcare support at school, and supplies.&nbsp; &nbsp;This initiative will educate young people on the important of cryptocurrency and how it can be used to sponsor their education and fund other public goods. Our journey started in January 2022 hosting IRL educational events in Lima, we managed to host 16 free onboarding events until now thanks to the support of Andino DAO, NTT Data, local web3 projects and our community. We currently have more than more than 700 members from diverse backgrounds, including students, entrepreneurs, and professionals of all ages.&nbsp;We understand that blockchain can be a new and intimidating area for many, which is why we strive to make it more accessible and relatable through our approach. We bring together regen-minded individuals, local NGOs, web3 builders, and community organizers who believe in the power of regenerative economics and decentralized coordination and we deliver to degens the idea that crypto can do better than charts and trading. <ul><li>How It Began:&nbsp;We have established a local chapter of GreenPill Network in 2023 and started our activity with onboarding events, called Regen Full Moon, in collaboration with&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/refiphangan" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ReFi Phangan</a>. We organized in-person onboarding events and workshops aimed at introducing the local community, NGOs, and individuals to web3 technologies and regenerative finance principles. These events are crucial in building a foundation of knowledge and engagement, fostering a community that is actively involved in sustainable practices. We have held 6 events with morning part - presentations and pitches and evening dance with attempts to implement sustainable environmental principles such as “refill” and “recycle”. Now, GreenPill Phangan have teamed up with local regens to conduct joint cleanups, working alongside the DeCleanup Network. Expect more in-person events, live demos, and collaborative campaigns soon, as we continue bridging Web3 and regen action - starting here and expanding worldwide. <ul><li>Air Quality Monitoring - Pilot&nbsp;The Altruist DePIN system by&nbsp;<a href="https://robonomics.network/devices/altruist/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robonomics Network</a>&nbsp;represents a new model of community-owned environmental monitoring. Unlike traditional systems that centralize data in government or corporate servers, Altruist ensures data sovereignty, transparency, and resilience through open-source firmware, local encryption, and decentralized storage. By deploying these sensors on Koh Phangan, we are piloting one of Thailand’s first decentralized environmental monitoring networks, giving both residents and tourists real-time access to trusted air quality data while building local capacity for long-term environmental governance. These devices measure air quality parameters such as PM2.5, PM10 (dust particles), noise levels, temperature, and humidity, and feed the data into an open, decentralized network. Our plan is to install them at five key locations around the island, creating a real-time air quality map accessible to the public. Through tools like Juicebox, local businesses can issue tokens that allow them to raise capital directly from their community and turn customers into true stakeholders. These tokens immediately grant participation rights in governance (via Snapshot or Gardens), enabling token holders to vote on business-related or community matters. We are testing profit-sharing mechanisms where a portion of business revenues can be distributed back to token holders through smart contracts. This creates a new type of community-powered business model: transparent, decentralized, and regenerative. By doing so, we are creating experiments in how blockchain can empower small retail businesses to access capital, engage stakeholders, and share value in ways that are normally only available to larger corporations. This is a sandbox for regenerative business innovation, where local businesses and their communities co-own the path forward. We are currently turning all the material into a free online course, and plan to start our next live cohort training in Feb 2024. With any community being able to run rounds on Gitcoin's Grant Stack, we're seeing a situation where there is more demand for rounds than there are round managers to run them. Our objective is it train as many people as possible so that ecosystems and communities can run their own community rounds on Gitcoin's Grant Stack, to help make public goods funding more accessible. <img src="https://giveth.mypinata.cloud/ipfs/QmcRmiq41hphxb1htxSWy84P33Zupib5Q1QJL4uBiKiLQG" style="cursor: nesw-resize;" width="490"> We’ve created over 22 chapters globally that run onboarding workshops, run web3 regen events, drive local impact, help onboard NGOs into web3, and work to teach people how to use crypto to regenerate the world. To date, we’ve&nbsp;hosted over 73 IRL events. This includes <a href="https://x.com/GreenpillNaija/status/1704247783836774843?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">'earn' your first crypto workshops</a> where participants do a net positive for their community ( garbage clean up, plant trees, hand out food rations) and then are taught about crypto, create a wallet, and learn how to use it. For this, they are rewarded with a little bit of crypto for their impact. Some of our chapters are teaming up with other regen-focused on-chain projects like Silvi to <a href="https://x.com/greenpillottawa/status/1732136460390633834?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">support tree-planting efforts in their community</a>. Favelaverso is a Web 3 project aimed at educating and empowering residents of Brazilian favelas about Blockchain technology through both in-person and online classes. Our training course in Blockchain, NFT, and Art AI was specifically developed for residents of favelas, with the goal of encouraging the adoption of this technology in the region. DeSci LATAM is a public good with the mission to promote the advancement of science in Latin America, by building a bridge between the scientific community and the blockchain ecosystem.&nbsp; DeSci LATAM was founded in June 2022 to become the Spanish-speaking community and to make the knowledge of DeSci available in Spanish and Portuguese. We organized and hosted the first DeSci event in Buenos Aires, and co-organized an event in Rio de Janeiro. We participated in a DeSci panel at ETH Brazil. We presented this year at Vitalia, where we discussed DeSci and our activities at DeSci LATAM to bring attention to DeSci and our region. Project DescriptionThe Commons GreenCoin is a project oriented to the co-design and implementing of environmentally friendly projects basically at schools and community level. The project involves activities of co-designing and creating small space productive gardens, commercial compost manure, and value added bamboo products. Model of OperationWomen, Youth and PWSN are trained on basic skills for designing and creatively implementing specific activity based on the area of interest backed up by business training facilitation. Statement of NeedAccording to the&nbsp;Tanzania Nutrition Survey 2018&nbsp;and the most recent&nbsp;Demographic and Health Survey (DHS),&nbsp;32% of children under five years are stunted&nbsp;(have low height-for-age) and&nbsp;58% suffer from anemia.&nbsp;The most affected regions with a prevalence of stunting exceeding 40 percent were Ruvuma (41 percent), Iringa (47 percent), Rukwa (48 percent), Kigoma (42 percent), Njombe (54 percent); a project region, and Songwe (43 percent). The programs focus on improving food security and closing unemployment gap existing to needy and voiceless group in the community by increasing access to The Commons GreenCoin. Coupled with the fact that between 50% and 70% of the Latin American population is unbanked or underbanked (according to <a href="https://news.microsoft.com/source/features/ai/fintech-ai-financial-inclusion-latin-america/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">microsoft.com</a>), there is a clear need for innovative solutions. By offering web3 content in Spanish, we aim to bridge these gaps and empower the approximately 400 million Spanish-speaking Latin Americans, opening doors to a reality of financial inclusion and opportunities previously out of reach. The Situation of Crypto In Latin America, things have changed a lot in the last 10 years, we have practically lived through devaluation after devaluation, as well as money printing, a very poor quality of life and very high costs. Hence, many people have sought now and always an escape from the reality in which we exist, leaving aside many of their dreams and expectations, living frustrated and unable to get ahead. Urbe Campus is an immersive IRL educational format that introduces developers to Web3 through an intensive one-week in-person program. Organized in collaboration with coding schools, conferences, and hackathons, the curriculum has been refined over seven editions to provide the ideal preparation for hackathons. Taught by experienced Web3 hackathon winners and industry veterans, Urbe Campus serves as a public good, fostering new talent and expanding the Ethereum ecosystem. Urbe Campus in organized by urbe.eth a Rome-based community fostering Web3 innovation beyond financial speculation. urbe.eth mission is to onboard the next generation of Ethereum developers through events, hackathons, and educational programs like Urbe Campus. In 2025 we aim to host 8 Urbe Campus events in 2025, onboarding 400+ developers globally through hands-on blockchain development training, mentorship from experienced builders, and real-world project-building opportunities. For schools that offer lunch, we provide this as well.&nbsp;&nbsp;Since class 7-9 are&nbsp;no longer a part of primary education, the fees are generally higher.&nbsp;We’ve seen that some of our graduates couldn’t continue to junior secondary due to financial challenges, so this support plays a key role in helping them move forward in their education. <h3>How Eco Moyo is different</h3> Although Kenya implemented a&nbsp;free education policy&nbsp;in 2003, there are many hidden costs which makes attending school difficult for children from low-income families. Eco Moyo is a private primary school - without any fees. We are a group passionate about technological and social inclusion, which emerged from the ETH Bogotá community after participating in Devcon VI. We are committed to creating accessible content for the Spanish-speaking community, aiming to remove barriers so everyone can build and participate in the Blockchain ecosystem. This course is designed to learn about Blockchain and develop Onchain dApps on Ethereum and its Layers 2. We have onboarded more than 200 developers into web3. After participating in our courses, over 50 have participated in hackathons, and 5 have started new jobs at blockchain companies. The program is conducted on a <a href="https://172-105-105-210.ip.linodeusercontent.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">virtual campus</a> built on a self-hosted Moodle server. This learning environment is complemented by live interactions on Google Meet, providing a comprehensive and dynamic educational experience. The sessions are recorded on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@Educateth/playlists" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">our YouTube channel</a>. Our focus is to facilitate collaboration between developers and builders. We maximize their capabilities and ensure that their first development experiences are enriching. To this end, we provide tools that allow students to easily deploy their contracts and interactions on a test network. The third iteration of the course will begin in early August. The program extends over 16 weeks and is divided into five parts. In addition to technical training, we connect course participants with influential leaders in Arbitrum ambassador programs at universities and the Arbitrum DAO Governance program. Sikizana Trust for Community Development runs a safe house for orphans and abandoned children and child survivors of gender-based violence, sexual abuse, and early marriage rescues. The rescued children are enrolled in both formal and vocational schools, undergo post-trauma counselling, and, where applicable, are assisted in any litigation process. This project targets the rescued children ages 8 to 15 under the care of Sikizana Trust. We are remotely located in a rural area in Makueni County, adjacent to the Tsavo West National Park and thus to digital tools and connectivity. This limits the children's ability to compete in the modern, digitally driven world. We seek to create a digital training hub for rural children and youth with an additional 40 PCs, 40 chairs, 20 tables, printers, and installation. Rural children are at risk of being left out in the increasingly digital world that is no longer just an advantage but a necessity. We have already started minimally at Sikizana Trust with four PCs and serving 60 children. Your support will help us build a lifelong capacity in our young people, increase their employability, and empower them for sustainable livelihood.
