Introduction to SpaceDAO

Vision and Mission

SpaceDAO is an on-chain platform utilizing Polygon for pixel drawing, with a core value of "Focusing on Minorities, Supporting Diversity." We are actively exploring the application of Web3 technologies to democratize art and conduct social experiments, aiming to give a voice to minority groups and expand the diverse cultural landscape of the blockchain world.

Acknowledgements

In collaboration with our partners, SpaceDAO participated in the inaugural issue of Matters Zine, documenting the journey of the community founded by Matters and its subsequent DAO transformation. Activities and Achievements

Since our inception, SpaceDAO has actively engaged in numerous initiatives to support minority groups and promote diversity. Here are some of our notable efforts:

• LGBTQ+ Support through Rainbow Lighthouse

We launched the Rainbow Lighthouse project to support the LGBTQ+ community, using our platform to create and sell NFTs that fund related initiatives.

• Ecological Balance in Taiwan - Sulfur Creek Project

In May 2023, in response to Earth Day on April 22, we participated in the Water NFT Art Award on the Tezos NFT platform akaSwap. Our project aimed to support Sulfur Creek, an ecologically rich stream in Taipei, through the sale of NFTs. 80% of the proceeds were allocated to environmental conservation efforts in Sulfur Creek. Sulfur Creek originates from Mount Qixing, running through Beitou and Shilin before reaching Tianmu. The creek, named for its sulfur content, features unique golden-colored streambeds due to the minerals in the water. Despite being a rare ecological treasure within an urban setting, the creek faces challenges from urban development.

• Sulfur Creek Life Basin

This citizen-led initiative focuses on "environmental education" and "civic participation," aiming to inspire community involvement in creating a harmonious coexistence between nature and the city.

• Disaster Relief and Human Rights Support

Raised funds for Pakistan flood relief, the Iranian women's rights movement, and the White Paper Movement by creating and auctioning dedicated NFTs.

• Support for Special Education - Pei Yan's World

In collaboration with TheSpace Web3 Museum and Pei Yan’s mother, we brought Pei Yan's artwork to the Web3 space to raise awareness about autism. Notable NFTs from Pei Yan include "Me in My Eyes," "Happiness of the Moment," and "The Back of the Human Body," which are available on akaSwap. Proceeds from these NFTs help support children with special needs.

• Additional Projects

1. TheSpace Web3 Museum also helped release Pei Yan's hand-drawn piece "First Genuine Smile," participating in the tezos4love event.
2. Animal Conservation in Taiwanese Schools. Supported animal conservation efforts in Taiwanese schools by fundraising through our Pixel Drawing platform.
3. The Space Museum's Online Exhibition: "Covid-19 in Shanghai". Launched on May 31, 2022, coinciding with the end of Shanghai's lockdown, the exhibition features a collaborative canvas titled "Spring in Shanghai," capturing memorable scenes from the pandemic era. The artwork includes depictions of COVID-19 testing and iconic landmarks, commemorating collective experiences during the lockdown. Future Goals

Short-term Goals (6 months - 1 year)

• Web2 to Web3 Transition

Assist newcomers interested in Web3 to join SpaceDAO's Discord community and engage with existing members, enhancing their sense of belonging and understanding of blockchain technology.Continue blockchain education within SpaceDAO, addressing Web3 queries. 

• Collaborative AMA Sessions

Partner with other Web3 organizations that support minority voices, conducting AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions to mutually increase community exposure and build bridges between SpaceDAO and various minority groups. 

• Operational Themes in Discord

Maintain diverse thematic operations such as LGBTQ+, Children Under the Stars, Environmental Conservation, and Creative Plaza within SpaceDAO Discord.

Mid-term Goals (2-3 years)

• Expanding Core Members

Develop diverse core members in various locations to support SpaceDAO's long-term development.

• Securing Diverse Funding

Seek funding to support SpaceDAO’s long-term goals, primarily through DAO-to-DAO collaborations with DHK DAO and FAB DAO, and identify a third DAO with similar values.

• Developing SubDAOs

Create various subDAOs to generate sustainable revenue streams in different markets, supporting diverse voices through multiple revenue sources.

Long-term Goals (5 years+ )

• Autonomous SubDAOs

Enable diverse subDAOs to operate independently while maintaining the flexibility of SpaceDAO’s organizational structure.

• Sustained Support for Minorities
