One of the key initiatives of MesoReefDAO is to develop a regenerative decentralized science (DeSci) offset program. The program will incentivize individuals and organizations to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to MAR conservation efforts. The fund will support the development and implementation of coral reef restoration projects in the MAR region. The fund will be managed by the DAO's community and will be open to contributions from anyone who wants to support the conservation and restoration of the MAR. Overall, MesoReefDAO is a cutting-edge initiative that seeks to harness the power of decentralized technologies to address the urgent challenges facing the Mesoamerican Reef. ‘Promoting better economic, social, cultural and environmental alternatives for the OSA community’.&nbsp; Welcome to Los Higuerones!...We are a community hub that invites people to come together and connect in ways that celebrate equity, biodiversity, and culture in the Osa. Beyond a community hub, we are a project incubator that initiates and nurtures projects that provide accompaniment of local farmers, producers and artisans in the fortification of a local economic system. Over the last 4 years we have set up multiple projects that are strengthening the community ties and sense of solidarity among the local community. These projects are now looking for resources to expand their impact.&nbsp; ‘Our approach begins with building trusting relationships that facilitate accompaniment and mutual respect. This lays the foundation to initiate and incubate the projects that directly answer to the needs of locals and can be spun off to the hands of the local people over time.’ Besides our community projects, the spaces of Los Higuerones itself are living examples of how we can live more harmoniously within our natural environment.&nbsp;The non-built areas of the property have grown from bare patches of dirt to abundant permaculture inspired gardens for food, fertility, and fancy.&nbsp;In addition…the built space has been curated into a multi-use “campus” with spaces for workshops, classes, meetings, gatherings and the like as well as accomodations for hosting work-traders, special visitors and groups of people focused on support for our Osa community.&nbsp;

Community-based resiliency hub on the Osa Peninsula

We build bridges between climate entrepreneurs, academics, technologists, funders, NGOs, and international public institutions.&nbsp;We do this through the production of conferences, hackathons, and builder residencies, and by collaborating with other organizations to implement pilots and funding rounds that forward novel web3 climate technologies and funding mechanisms. In 2024, we are hosting events in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Switzerland, and in Thailand. Our initiatives, including conferences, hackathons, and builder residencies, are designed to be accessible to all, with scholarships available for those who request them. Tickets to conferences are provided free of charge to anyone with financial needs, and our builder residencies always cover the full costs of room and board for all participants. We also offer travel stipends in some circumstances. We ensure inclusivity by uploading talks and sessions online and contributing to the open-source software ecosystem, advancing public knowledge and innovation in web3 climate technologies and funding mechanisms. All code produced during hackathons and residencies is free open source software. By connecting with inspiring minds and exploring topics such as environmental asset models, land stewardship innovations, and impact verification and measurement, we aim to facilitate incentive alignment, cooperation, and accountability to steward the Earth’s precious resources in perpetuity.&nbsp; Our mission is to transform the funding and governance of nature’s commons, such as the atmosphere, forests, oceans, biodiversity, freshwater reservoirs, and other ecosystems, by uniting the forces of Web2, Web3, research, philanthropy, and industry. As example, DeCleanup and <a href="https://x.com/cleanify_vet?s=21" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cleanify</a> have a collaborative strategy to promote each other, motivating both communities to organize more cleanups, and providing additional incentives for them.DeCleanup Network has established activity in new location - Nigeria, Nsukka, where we supported campaign, organized by Unplogging Nigeria, UNN community. The campaign called Pesathon is about providing environmental education for students of UNN for two weeks and encourage them to clean up the campus, nature around it and apply with their photos to our dApp. It included the bounty on Impact Miner by <a href="https://www.atlantisp2p.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Atlantis</a>, where we increased the rewards for the winners and provided 120 $USDGLO of additional funding to the campaign.During Devcon in Bangkok in November, we <a href="https://x.com/DeCleanupNet/status/1857724107447742821" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">cleaned up</a> the sidewalks nearby the main venue and celebrated the whole thing with Pizza DAO sponsored afterparty! <h1>How It Works in V1</h1>Participants submit Proof of Impact (PoI) data for cleanup activities via the <a href="https://decleanup.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">DeCleanup dApp</a>. These submissions are verified and converted into dynamic Impact Products (dIPs), assets that evolve with user contributions. Each dIP grows in Impact Value (IV), levels, and DCU Points (which will be converted into $DCU Tokens during the Token Generation Event at V2 launch).
