I saw the devastating effects of poverty on children and families in my community especially during pandemic and felt compelled to take action. The statistics are staggering. according to the Philippine Statistic Authority, 48% of our population is in the poverty level. And recently reported that 26.14 million Filipinos live below the poverty level threshold of about ₱12,030 per month for a family of 5. Children are the most affected by this problem. Our vision is to help end hunger and feed the hungry children. We believe that every child deserves a chance to thrive and have a full stomach. Our mission is to provide at least one complete meal a day, (1 rice and 1 viand) for children in high-risk and impoverished neighborhoods through weekly food distributions. Our goal is to reach 200 children and families each week through our food distribution program. Unfortunately, 1 out of 3 children in the Philippines suffer from stunted growth due to hunger and malnutrition, and 1.6 million children all over the Philippines go to sleep hungry not having eaten a thing. That is why we conduct the food distribution in the late afternoon to ensure that these children have access to a meal before going to bed. We understand that poverty and hunger are complex issues that require a multi-faceted approach, that's why we also provide education and resources to help these families break the cycle of poverty and hunger.
